Radiohead‘s Jonny Greenwood has introduced a brand new album with Israeli musician Dudu Tassa.
‘Jarak Qaribak’ will come out on June 9 and is being previewed by a primary single titled ‘Ashufak Shay’.
Discussing the type of the music on the album in a press launch, Tassa – who has beforehand toured with Radiohead – stated: “When individuals take heed to this music, I actually like to think about them considering…what is that this? It sounds Seventies, however there are drum machines, there are guitars however they’re singing in Arabic…what’s occurring?”
Greenwood mentioned how the challenge in comparison with one other previous collaboration with an Israeli singer, Shye Ben Tzur, saying: “‘Jarak Qaribak’ introduced the same set of issues, in that you’ve got all these scales which don’t conform to western main/minor scales, and have notes which contain quarter-tones, and it’s very exhausting to impose a chord sequence on these melodies. It often makes them collapse. It’s like decreasing the decision on a color picture till it’s simply squares.”

Extra music seems to be set to be on the horizon for Greenwood, with each of his principal tasks hinting at future new materials in current weeks.
This month, Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has stated that the band will launch new materials “of some kind” within the “subsequent couple of years”, whereas The Smile – the band of Greenwood, Thom Yorke and Sons Of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner – have been engaged on new music for the final seven weeks and trying to comply with up 2022 debut ‘A Mild For Attracting Consideration’.
Away from music, Greenwood has began promoting his personal olive oil, made on his personal farm within the Le Marche area of Italy.
