Queen’s Roger Taylor on whether son Rufus will replace Taylor Hawkins in Foo Fighters

Queen’s Roger Taylor has refused to substantiate or deny if his son Rufus Taylor goes to switch the late Taylor Hawkins as Foo Fighters’ drummer.

The sticksman – who tragically died aged 50 in 2022 – was a Queen mega-fan and following rumours that advised Rufus, who performs drums for The Darkness, might take Taylor’s seat behind the package for Dave Grohl and co, Roger has stated he is worthy sufficient.

The ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ rocker informed BBC Radio 2: “Nicely, Rufus is phenomenal.

“He’s became this scary, nice drummer with The Darkness […] My son, he’s simply annoyingly highly effective and he’s turn into very, superb. I can’t say any extra!”

Requested if he might be a part of the band on tour, he insisted: “Nicely, he does play brilliantly with them. He is aware of all their stuff, is aware of all of them very properly.

“He did play ‘Better of You’ with the Foos, and it was phenomenal at Wembley, and at The Discussion board in LA. What precisely is going on now, I don’t know.”

Taylor and Roger have been good buddies.

On his legacy, he added: “We’re by no means going to overlook him. I can’t take him out of my cellphone.”

Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron lately quashed gossip he could be taking up from Taylor.

He informed followers on Instagram: “FYI the web rumours are false, I haven’t joined the Foos.”

The ‘Study to Fly’ rockers lately returned with their first new music since Taylor’s passing, ‘Rescued’, taken from their upcoming album ‘However Right here We Are’.
