Terry Corridor has been laid to relaxation following his dying final month.

On December 19, The Specials introduced that their frontman had handed away on the age of 63 after a “transient sickness”. The band’s bassist, Horace Panter, subsequently confirmed that Corridor had been recognized with pancreatic most cancers that had unfold to his liver.

By early final month, the singer had “misplaced a misplaced of weight” and was “very frail”. Corridor then died on the night of December 18.

Following the information of Corridor’s dying, tributes poured in throughout social media from the likes of Damon Albarn, Sleaford Mods, Billy Bragg, The Libertines, New Order, Rowetta and Lol Tolhurst (previously of The Treatment).

Ex-Specials member Neville Staple, in the meantime, stated he was “deeply saddened” by the singer’s passing.

“We knew Terry had been unwell however didn’t realise how critical till not too long ago,” Staple wrote on Twittter. “We had solely simply confirmed some 2023 joint music agreements collectively. This has hit me.”

Elsewhere, Corridor’s residence soccer membership Coventry Metropolis paid tribute to the late frontman by displaying a digital banner at a match.

“Hey, I’m Terry and I’m going to take pleasure in myself first,” it learn, referencing lyrics from The Specials’ 1980 track ‘Get pleasure from Your self (It’s Later Than You Assume)’. “Terry Corridor 19/03/1959 – 19/12/2022.”
