Whereas Woomble already has six solo albums to his title, his new moniker has allowed him to discover a extra “genre-fluid” method – as showcased by the simmering digital rush of first single ‘Something No matter’.

“I began writing brief scripts throughout the pandemic and initially I conceived Virtually Nothing as extra of a brief movie with a soundtrack,” stated Woomble. “I’ve no expertise in making movies actually, so began creating it into a brief story, a novella, however quickly realised that I’m greatest at writing songs.

“In my creativeness, it nonetheless is a brief movie and a guide, however in actuality, it’s a 10-track album. I favored the title because it’s neither constructive or destructive and fairly ambiguous for a band. It might both be a curious one-off or the beginning of one thing new and important – it’s nearly one thing, nearly nothing.”

Written and recorded all through 2021 and 2022, Virtually Nothing is a collaboration
between Woomble and 4 totally different producers – Scott Paterson (Safety), Andrew
Wasylyk, Le Junk, and Luciano Rossi (Dama Scout). The album comes with the Virtually Nothing Journal – that includes over 100 pages of “behind-the-scenes, fly-on-the-wall entry to Roddy’s journey all through the artistic course of” and created in collaboration with Tom Johnson from Gold Flake Paint.

“I saved a free diary over the entire Virtually Nothing journey, so the journal takes that diary
kind however mixes it with lyrics and poems, some sketches and bits of tales alongside
images,” stated Woomble.

“The intention is to specific and reveal – from the method of creating albums, the concepts that come and go, track evaluation, bits of poetry, traces that by no means labored, alongside bizarre observations and day by day routine. I feel the journal compliments the album in its personal uncommon approach.”
