John Gosling, who performed keyboards for The Kinks through the Nineteen Seventies, has died. He was 75.
The Kinks introduced the unhappy information by means of its social media accounts on Friday (Aug. 4). A reason behind demise was not offered.
“We’re deeply saddened by the information of the passing of John Gosling. We’re sending our condolences to John’s spouse and household,” the band wrote in an announcement.
Gosling joined the Kinks in 1970 and performed on 10 of the rock band’s albums, in addition to the demo of the group’s traditional music Lola.”
“Condolences to his spouse Theresa and household. Relaxation in Peace dearest John,” Kinks singer Ray Davies wrote.
Guitarist Dave Davies added, “I’m dismayed deeply upset by John Gosling’s passing. He has been a pal and necessary contributor to the Kinks music throughout his time with us. Deepest sympathies to his spouse and household. I’ll maintain deep affection and love for him in my coronary heart at all times. Nice musician and a terrific man.”
Drummer Mick Avory additionally remembered Gosling. “Immediately we misplaced an expensive pal and colleague, he was a terrific musician and had a incredible sense of humour… which made him well-liked member of the band, he leaves us with some completely satisfied recollections. God Bless him.”
Gosling left the Kinks in 1978 and was briefly changed by Gordon Edwards upon his departure. A yr later, Ian Gibbons took over on keyboards.
In 1994, Gosling grew to become a founding member of Kast Off Kinks, which included former Kinks members Avory, Jim Rodford and John Dalton. He carried out with the act till retiring in 2008.
