Death Cult announce UK, US and Ireland tour in celebration of 40th anniversary

Demise Cult have introduced a UK, US and Eire tour in honour of the band’s fortieth anniversary happening later this 12 months.

The band, consisting of Billy Duffy and Ian Astbury, will likely be returning to play iconic venues they beforehand carried out in at the beginning of their profession. In accordance with a press launch, the exhibits, titled Demise Cult 8323, will give attention to Demise Cult and their eponymous EPs, and also will “boast a setlist that spans the three phases of the band, from Southern Demise Cult, to Demise Cult, and The Cult’s first two albums: ‘Dreamtime’ (1984) and ‘Love’ (1985).”

Kicking off with a present in Los Angeles at The Theatre at The Ace Lodge on October 23, the band will then head to numerous cities throughout the UK together with Belfast, Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow and extra. They are going to then wrap up the one-off tour with two nights in London at Brixton Electrical.

Final 12 months, The Cult launched their eleventh studio album ‘Below the Midnight Solar’. Additionally they introduced a US tour is ready to kick off in October.

Talking in regards to the creation of the LP, Astbury mentioned how the worldwide pandemic impacted the inventive course of behind ‘Below The Midnight Solar’. “When the world stopped, I had this second to write down in actual time, to calculate,” he stated. “I used to be compelled by this imaginative and prescient, this anomaly, this reminiscence, of being below the midnight solar.
