South Korean singer V of boyband BTS has revealed the Ok-pop woman group that impressed his upcoming solo album, ‘Layover’.
BTS’ V will formally make his solo debut in September together with his first studio album ‘Layover’, which can embody the songs ‘Wet Days’ and ‘Love Me Once more’. The Ok-pop idol’s file will likely be led by Min Hee-jin, the CEO of NewJeans’ label ADOR.
In a brand new interview with W Korea, V opened up about ‘Layover’, why he determined to work with Min Hee-jin and the Ok-pop woman group that was the impetus for the file.
“f(x)’s ‘Pink Tape’ was an enormous inspiration,” V revealed. Notably, Min Hee-jin had been the inventive director at SM Leisure when f(X) launched ‘Pink Tape’ in 2013. “I reached out to her the second I recalled it.”
“I needed to indicate a distinct facet of my music in comparison with my previous works and collaborating appeared like the easiest way to realize that,” the Ok-pop idol added. “Our collaborative discussions have been productive, encompassing each element, and all the collaboration course of was seamless.”
V additionally spoke about how ‘Layover’ will likely be a mixture of the singer’s “strengths with [his] passions”. He added: “My love for numerous genres usually has me buzzing away. Whereas creating this solo album, I really found my vocal essence, and that’s what makes me extremely fulfilling.”
V’s upcoming file will make him the most recent member of BTS to launch a solo album, becoming a member of the likes of Jimin, RM, J-hope and Suga. In the meantime, bandmate Jungkook says he’s aiming to launch his debut solo mini-album by November 2023.
