Patti Smith responded on Saturday to Taylor Swift‘s latest point out of her within the title observe of her album, The Tortured Poets Division.

Swift name-drops Smith, a rock poet and artist, alongside poet Dylan Thomas within the refrain of her tune “The Tortured Poets Division,” launched together with its namesake album on Friday. She sings, “I laughed in your face and stated / ‘You’re not Dylan Thomas, I’m not Patti Smith / This ain’t the Chelsea Resort / We’re fashionable idiots.’”

On Instagram, Smith posted a photograph of herself studying a Dylan Thomas assortment on Instagram, writing: “That is / saying I used to be / moved to be / talked about in / the corporate / of the nice / Welsh poet / Dylan Thomas. / Thanks, Taylor.”

Thomas, a twentieth century author, was well-known for his poem “Dot Not Go Mild Into That Good Evening,” together with “Beneath Milk Wooden” and “And Dying Shall Have No Dominion.” Smith is greatest recognized for her 1978 tune “As a result of the Evening.” Her 2010 memoir, Simply Youngsters, gained the Nationwide Guide Award for nonfiction. The Chelsea Resort, situated in Manhattan, has lengthy celebrated its popularity for housing writers, painters and different artists.

Swift unveiled The Tortured Poets Division on Friday, initially sporting 16 songs with two tracks that includes Publish Malone and Florence + The Machine, respectively. Two hours after the preliminary drop, the singer-songwriter shocked followers with a “double album” drop, including 15 extra songs in a launch titled The Anthology.

Bodily copies of the album reportedly included a poem from Stevie Nicks, written for Swift, which was featured on the LP gatefolds or CD booklets.

“For T — and me…” the poem’s header reads.

“He was in love along with her / Or no less than she thought so / She was brokenhearted / Possibly he was too / Neither of them knew. She was means too sizzling to deal with/ He was means too excessive to attempt — / He couldn’t even see her / He wouldn’t open his eyes / She was on her technique to the celebs / He didn’t say goodbye,” the poem, dated Sept. 13, reads.

“He actually can’t reply her / He’s afraid of her / He’s hiding from her / And he is aware of — that he’s hurting her / She tells the reality / She writes about it / She’s an informer / He’s an x-lover / There’s nothing there for her / She’s already gone.”
