Sparks re-sign to Island Records almost 50 years after breakthrough album

Sparks have returned to Island Information after nearly 50 years to launch their twenty sixth studio album, ‘The Lady Is Crying In Her Latte’.

The Los Angeles duo’s breakthrough third file, ‘Kimono My Home’, got here out by way of the label again in 1974. Sparks remained with Island till 1976. Their seventh LP, 1977’s ‘Introducing Sparks’, was launched by Columbia (US) and CBS (UK).

At this time (January 24), Sparks – comprising brothers Ron and Russell Mael – have confirmed that the follow-up to 2020’s ‘A Regular Drip, Drip, Drip’ will arrive on Could 26. Pre-orders are presently not out there.

Per a press launch, the forthcoming full-length challenge sees the band proceed down a “distinctive and uncompromising path”, and is described as a “daring, style defying, trendy masterpiece”.

Talking of their return to Island, Sparks mentioned in a joint assertion: “Humorous how issues work!
