Oscar-Grammy-Emmy winner Atticus Ross and the duo behind the music in Emilia Pérez lead the nominees on the 2025 Society of Composers & Lyricists Awards.
Ross earned two nominations for his musical work on Shogun and a nod for “Compress/Repress” from Challengers. Clément Ducol and Camille acquired three nominations for the Netflix movie starring Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez, together with two bids for excellent authentic tune for a comedy or musical visible media manufacturing. Ross, Ducol and Camille’s works have been shortlisted on the Academy Awards; 9 of the 15 songs shortlisted are nominated on the SCL Awards, whereas six scores shortlisted made the SCL listing.
The sixth annual SCL Awards, which have fun excellence and innovation in music for visible media, can be held in Los Angeles on Feb. 12 and hosted by singer-songwriter Colin Hay.
Different nominees embody Miley Cyrus for “Lovely That Method” from The Final Showgirl; Elton John and Brandi Carlile for “By no means Too Late” from Elton John: By no means Too Late; Robbie Williams for “Forbidden Street” from Higher Man; Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear for “Past” from Moana 2; Lainey Wilson for “Out of Oklahoma” from Twisters; Finneas for Disclaimer; and Diane Warren for “The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight.
Composer Harry Gregson-Williams and director Ridley Scott — who’ve labored collectively on Gladiator II, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven and Home of Gucci — will obtain the Spirit of Collaboration Award, whereas composer Jeff Beal will earn the SCL Jury Award.
Nominees and winners for the SCL Awards are judged and decided solely by member composers and songwriters. Last voting opens Jan. 27 via Feb. 3.
