After two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 within the final 10 months, Stray Children have delivered one other new venture centered on the Japanese market.

Launched the morning of Feb. 21 (Feb. 22 native time in Japan), The Sound marks Stray Children’ first authentic Japanese full-length album. The ten-track report follows up two earlier EPs that the boy band packaged for Japan with Circus from 2022 and All In from 2020. Whereas these earlier EPs consisted of half or extra remakes of their Ok-pop materials, The Sound is a majority of authentic music.

Forward of the total album right now, a number of singles previewed the LP together with “Scars” and “Thunderous (Japanese Model),” which had been each initially launched in 2021, “Case 143 (Japanese Model)” from 2022, and the rip-roaring title monitor “The Sound” from January, and rhythmic ballad “There” from Feb. 15, forward of the total album right now.

Demonstrating fan anticipation for the LP, the Children took excessive 5 of Billboard’s Scorching Trending Songs chart, powered by Twitter, dated Jan. 28, with the title monitor at No. 1, and the cuts “DLMLU,” “Novel,” “Battle Floor” and “Misplaced Me” at Nos. 2-5, respectively.

Two tracks from The Sound are on the Japan Scorching 100 chart dated Feb. 18, 2023. After peaking at No. 14 final yr, “Case 143” is at No. 78 for its nineteenth week on the chart. In the meantime, “The Sound” is at No. 96 after debuting at No. 34 final week. To this point, SKZ peaked at No. 2 on the Japan Scorching 100 with “Scars” in 2021.

Whereas Stray Children’ most up-to-date Korean albums have been capable of high the Billboard 200 because of their large availability in retail shops after signing with Republic Data, there’s no present indication that The Sound or any of the band’s different J-pop materials will likely be made obtainable in retail shops or by way of bodily albums like different Korean bands (akin to BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER) have beforehand carried out.
