Rema can’t settle down after incomes his career-first Billboard Sizzling 100 high 10 hit with “Calm Down,” that includes Selena Gomez.

“Attempting to carry within the tears, I understand how arduous I labored to get my sound right here, I’m grateful to God for the way far I’ve come,” Rema (actual title Divine Ikubor) wrote in an Instagram put up containing a photograph of himself and a photograph of the March 25-dated Sizzling 100 chart’s high 10. “Like to those who believed, like to the Queen @selenagomez.”

“Calm Down” was initially launched on February 11, 2022 through Jonzing World, Mavin, SMG Music, Virgin and Interscope. It was the second single from Rema’s debut studio album Rave & Roses, which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard‘s World Albums chart. The Gomez-assisted remix arrived on August 25, 2022 and went on to high International Excl. U.S. in addition to U.S. Afrobeats Songs, the place it’s at the moment spending a twenty ninth week at No. 1, marking the longest run on the high of the chart since Billboard and Afro Nation launched it in March 2022.

“I don’t actually do remixes — most of my songs are solo or options. I needed a feminine voice on the music. The music was already blowing up, so I felt like we wanted somebody that might take it as much as the following degree. From our discussions, planning, and accessible contacts and friendship, Selena was the most effective guess,” the Afrorave artist stated in a latest interview with Billboard. “Daily I get up to excellent news. Not simply excellent news about how effectively my profession goes; it’s about how effectively my tradition is flying. Afrobeats goes to the following degree. This music is opening doorways and bridges. Listeners wish to know what extra is coming from Nigeria, what extra is coming from Africa. I’m so pleased.”
