A Sure Ratio have shared their fourth single ‘Holy Smoke’ from their upcoming eleventh album, ‘1982’.
The brand new album is ready for launch on March 31 through Mute, with the Manchester indie legends sharing a remaining style of what to anticipate with the old-school funk of ‘Holy Smoke’. The brand new single finds the band paying tribute to the style’s forefathers, from James Brown to Chaka Khan and Prince.
‘Holy Smoke’ follows their earlier singles ‘SAMO’, ‘Afro Dizzy’ and ‘Ready on a Practice’ – the latter three all that includes neo-soul musician Ellen Beth Abdi.
Guitarist Martin Moscrop shared that the album title is “referred to as ‘1982’ however I wouldn’t say this album sounds something like ‘Sextet’,” referring to their third album that was launched that 12 months.
