The singer took to Instagram on Monday (July 1) to tease what seems to be a canopy or an unique track that samples Britney Spears’ 2000 hit, “Fortunate,” an ode to the lonelier aspect of fame. “She’s so fortunate, she’s a star/ However she cry, cry, cries in her lonely coronary heart, pondering/ If there’s nothing lacking in my life/ Then why do these tears come at night time?” Halsey sings the refrain within the teaser clip, including her personal kind of pop twist on the monitor.
