The Tuesday Morning Music Membership Presents A Free Live performance on January 24, 2023
The Tuesday Morning Music Membership of Douglaston will current a free live performance of classical music on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The live performance will function a program offered by flutist Jonah Murphy, who was the winner of the Membership’s 2022 Younger Artist Competitors. Mr. Murphy will current a recital that includes music by CPE Bach, JS Bach, James Cohn, Charles Koechlin, Adam Sisler, and Sigfried Karg-Elert.
Jonah Murphy research flute and composition on the Manhattan College of Music. Honors in flute efficiency embrace awards from New York Flute Membership Competitors (first prize), Alexander & Buono Worldwide Flute Competitors, and (twice) the Lillian Fuchs Competitors in chamber efficiency. He has participated in masterclasses with Stefan Hoskuldsson, Nicholas Duchamp, Mark Sparks, and others. Additionally an energetic composer, Mr. Murphy has received awards from ASCAP, YoungArts, and the Chamber Music Society of Rochester [NY]. His works have been performed by PubliQuartet, the Mivos Quartet, Manhattan Brass Quintet, and different ensembles. His academics are Mr. Michael Parloff (flute) and Dr. J. Mark Stambaugh (composition).
The live performance will happen on the Group Church of Douglaston, 39-50 Douglaston Parkway, Douglaston, NY. Admission is free and open to the general public; no tickets are required. Please be aware that each one viewers members should present proof of Covid vaccination and put on a masks – no exceptions.
