Grammy Award-winning rock guitarist Jeff Beck has died.
On Wednesday, a consultant for the English musician’s household introduced by way of social media that he had handed away “abruptly” after contracting bacterial meningitis. He was 78.
“On behalf of his household, it’s with deep and profound disappointment that we share the information of Jeff Beck’s passing,” they wrote. “After abruptly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully handed away yesterday. His household ask for privateness whereas they course of this great loss.”
Beck rose to prominence with influential group The Yardbirds and was concerned in making 1966’s Roger the Engineer. He later shaped the Jeff Beck Group and in addition recorded a number of albums as a solo artist.
