Ronnie Wooden has addressed rumours that Jeff Beck was invited to hitch the Rolling Stones, saying that he “wouldn’t have stored up with the timetable”.
Wooden was talking to MOJO in regards to the late musician, who died in January on the age of 78 after contracting bacterial meningitis.
“He wouldn’t have stored up with the timetable! Eric Clapton as soon as mentioned to me, ‘I might have joined that band.’ I mentioned, ‘Yeah, however you gotta reside with them, Eric!’” remarked Wooden [via MusicNews]
