Uriah Heep say individuals have been “making rumbles” about them being inducted into the Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame.
Guitarist Mick Field – who’s the one unique member of the prog rock band left within the present line-up – revealed their followers are eager to launch a petition to get them honoured.
Chatting with the most recent challenge of Goldmine journal, Mick mentioned: “Individuals have been making rumbles about it, and I believe our followers try to get a petition collectively for it to get the correct numbers to warrant being there.
“However I believe through the years, and possibly we deserve a spot, however they’ve a variety committee that chooses what bands go in and what bands do not.
And there is nothing we will do about that actually.
“All I do know is that we have been going for over 52 years now, have 25 albums, bought over 40 million albums, and have toured in 62 nations, so there’s some advantage for us to be there.
“Whether or not or not we get chosen is neither right here nor there.
“And if it would not occur, as common, life goes on.”
When requested how he’d wish to be remembered, humble Mick mentioned for “inspiring” individuals and being a “good guitarist”.
He mentioned: “I do not know, as that is a troublesome one. As guitarist and human being could be sufficient. I deal with others how I need to be handled myself, and I am very grounded in what I do. I am one among these individuals who can go onstage and produce an ego to carry out, however then I can depart it onstage and are available again and be Joe Schmo once more. They’re the weather actually, and the truth that you introduced a lot pleasure to individuals’s lives and impressed individuals. Essentially the most rewarding factor for me is when individuals come as much as me after the present and say, ‘Look, I noticed you play at such and such place and also you blew me away and it was incredible and also you made me need to be in music, and I now play in a band, and I simply need to thanks for it.’ And that is essentially the most rewarding factor, inspiring individuals to deliver music into their lives, as a result of to be sincere, music is life and life is music.”
