Blur are to launch their first album in eight years.
The ‘Parklife’ group will convey out ‘The Ballad of Darren’ – their first document since 2015’s ‘The Magic Whip’ – on 21 July, and the primary monitor from the document, ‘The Narcissist’, is out now, forward of the band’s 4 intimate warm-up gigs this month, which kick off with a hometown present at Colchester Arts Centre on Friday (19.05.23).
Frontman Damon Albarn defined the album gives “reflection and remark” on the place they’re of their lives now.
He stated in a press release:“That is an aftershock document, reflection and touch upon the place we discover ourselves now.”
Guitarist Graham Coxon added: “The older and madder we get, it turns into extra important that what we play is loaded with the suitable emotion and intention. Typically only a riff doesn’t do the job.”
In the meantime, drummer Dave Rowntree insisted there was no awkwardness between the ‘She’s So Excessive’ hitmakers as they returned to the studio collectively after such a protracted absence, and bassist Alex James loved seeing them shock each other.
