When the clock struck 6am on Friday, Oct. 6, Drake’s eighth studio album, For All The Canines, hit streaming companies after weeks of delays.

Marking his first solo album since 2022’s Actually Nevermind, For All The Canines spawned his Scorching 100 No. 1 single “Slime You Out” that includes SZA. The tune marked Drake’s twelfth No. 1 single on the Scorching 100, tying him for fifth all-time. His newest feat moved him nearer to surpassing Michael Jackson for probably the most amongst solo males, because the King of Pop sits at 13.

Other than “Slime You Out,” Drake revved up anticipation on Thursday (Oct. 5) when he launched his sixth entry in his “AM 2 PM” sequence with “8 AM in Charlotte.” The six-minute clip dropped in the course of the wee hours of the morning and starred his son Adonis. “Charlotte” precipitated waves on social media, sparking questions on who Drake was addressing in a few of his lyrics. The web has tossed quite a few names within the ring, together with Metro Boomin, YoungBoy NBA, Charlamagne Tha God, and Kanye West.

Followers leaned on the latter, particularly after listening to Drake’s third verse. “You n-ggas obsessive about me and it’s not on no hetero vibe/ Deal with beef so quiet you assume that I’m letting it slide/ Subsequent factor you recognize we tip-toeing previous enemy strains/ Diss me so way back we making your reminiscences fly/ Conspiracy theories begin floating round just like the Kennedy man/I’ll most likely maintain a grudge towards you guys ’til I’m 75,” he raps.

Drake has beforehand thrown darts at West on songs akin to Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” and French Montana’s “No Stylist.”
