Dua Lipa‘s “Dance the Night time” has topped this week’s new music ballot.
Music followers voted in a ballot revealed Friday (Could 26) on Billboard, selecting the 27-year-old pop singer’s Barbie film tune as their favourite new music launch of the previous week.
“Dance the Night time” introduced in 37% of the vote, beating out new music by Taylor Swift, Lil Durk, d4vd, Peso Pluma, and others.
The disco-tinged monitor — the primary single from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie and its respective soundtrack — was co-written with Mark Ronson, Caroline Ailin and Andrew Wyatt. The monitor was co-produced by Wyatt and Picard Brothers.
Lipa gives up fashionable synth instrumentals and disco components that ship a surge of dopamine to the mind, whereas serving as an extension of her wildly profitable Future Nostalgia album run. Difficult romances, damaged hearts and tears don’t stand an opportunity when the singer is burning up the dance ground.
The pop star is confirmed to be starring within the extremely anticipated live-action film, during which she’ll play a mermaid doll alongside Margot Robbie’s Barbie and Ryan Gosling’s Ken.
Ronson serves as govt producer for the Barbie soundtrack, which is formally titled Barbie the Album. Different artists showing on the set embrace Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Lizzo, Charli XCX, and PinkPantheress. The soundtrack arrives July 21 — the identical day the film hits theaters.
Trailing behind “Dance the Night time” on the ballot is Swift’s Midnights (The Til Daybreak Version), with practically 22% of the vote, adopted by her Ice Spice-assisted “Karma” remix, with roughly 18% of the vote.
