Here’s How SZA Reacted to Barack Obama Putting ‘Snooze’ on His 2023 Summer Playlist

It’s that point of yr once more — former president Barack Obama took to his Twitter account on Friday (July 21) to share all of the songs that ended up on his summer season playlist this yr. And one artist particularly couldn’t maintain her pleasure at being acknowledged by president No. 44.

“Like I do yearly, listed below are some songs I’ve been listening to this summer season — a mixture of previous and new. Sit up for listening to what I’ve missed,” Obama tweeted, together with a listing of all of the tracks in his rotation. Of the various included, SZA‘s “Snooze” made the checklist.

Upon seeing her inclusion, SZA took to her Instagram Tales and wrote, “My without end president mentioned hurry up w the video and I heard him,” she wrote over his publish, probably hinting at corresponding visuals for the monitor.

Additionally included on the previous president’s playlist have been: J Hus and Drake’s “Who Advised You,” Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro’s “Vampiros,” Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj’s “Princess Diana” and Janelle Monáe’s “Solely Have Eyes 42.” Obama additionally had nation represented within the rotation with Luke Combs’ chart-topping tackle Tracy Chapman’s “Quick Automotive,” together with indie rock with Boygenius single “Not Sturdy Sufficient.”

SZA wasn’t the one who reacted to being included. Lucy Dacus — who’s one third of boygenius alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker — took to Twitter to retweet the playlist, and wrote that Obama is a “battle legal :(” in response. (She didn’t specify what Obama’s battle crimes have been in her tweet.)
