Johnny Marr and Diane Warren have paid tribute to late Sire Information founder Seymour Stein.

Lang merely tweeted, “Swift rebirth my buddy”, with the praying arms emoji, whereas Tim Burgess of the Charlatans wrote, “Sire was a type of labels that was an indication of nice style and high quality. He knew good music. We met him in New York, at The Limelight, when The Charlatans performed there, we would been requested to place him on the visitor listing – his plus one was Madonna.”
In 2005, Stein was inducted into the Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame, within the lifetime achievement class.
He’s survived by his daughter, filmmaker Mandy Stein.
