Lewis Capaldi has claimed that file labels “know nothing” about making a success tune.

Throughout a current episode on the YouTube sequence Sizzling Ones, the Scottish singer-songwriter made a not-so-subtle dig at file labels whereas discussing his music.

In the course of the chat, host Sean Evans requested the 26-year-old what he learns as an artist when a tune exceeds his expectations. The host identified that the singer’s 2019 tune Bruises made him the quickest unsigned artist to succeed in 25 million streams on Spotify.

“You simply be taught that you do not know something. You be taught you do not know something and no one has the reply,” Lewis responded candidly. “You do not know what a success is – each time I believe a tune is a smash hit, it has been a whole abject f**king failure.”

The Somebody You Cherished hitmaker continued in his notoriously self-deprecating method, “Labels know nothing, nothing. No one is aware of something.”

He added, “No offence,” whereas gesturing to unseen individuals behind the digicam, presumably label executives.

Sizzling Ones was recorded earlier than however launched after Lewis introduced a profession break. The singing sensation revealed that he was cancelling all performances and work commitments for the foreseeable future after he struggled by his set at Glastonbury in late June because of his Tourette’s syndrome.
