The Rock & Roll Corridor of Fame has named 14 music legends as performer nominees for induction in its 2025 class.
The nominees for 2025 are Unhealthy Firm, The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Pleasure Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Maná, Oasis, Outkast, Phish, Soundgarden and The White Stripes.
Eight of the 14 nominees are showing on the poll for the primary time: Unhealthy Firm, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, Outkast, and Phish.
Ballots will now be despatched to a world voting panel consisting of over 1,200 artists, historians, and music {industry} professionals. The Rock & Roll Corridor of Fame choice standards “embody an artist’s influence on different musicians, the scope and longevity of their profession and physique of labor, in addition to their innovation and excellence in type and method.”
Honorees might be introduced in April, with the annual induction ceremony set for the autumn in Los Angeles. On the ceremony, inductees chosen through three particular committee classes — Musical Affect, Musical Excellence and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award — may also enter the Corridor of Fame.
In 2024, the music-industry honor within the performer class went to Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Ozzy Osbourne and A Tribe Referred to as Quest. Musical Excellence Award honorees included Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick and Norman Whitfield; Alexis Korner, John Mayall and Huge Mama Thornton obtained the Musical Affect Award. And Motown government Suzanne de Passe obtained the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
