Neil Young slams Ticketmaster and scalpers for ruining live music

Neil Younger is the newest artist to hit out on the ludicrous costs music followers are paying for live performance tickets.

After The Treatment’s frontman Robert Smith mentioned he was “sickened” by the inflated costs, resulting in followers to obtain partial refunds on Ticketmaster charges for the band’s US tour dates, the music legend has blasted websites like Ticketmaster and scalpers for ruining dwell music by profiting from gig-goers.

In a brand new entry on his Neil Younger Archives web site, the 77-year-old musician mentioned: “It’s over. The previous days are gone.

“I get letters blaming me for $3,000.00 tickets for a profit I’m doing. That cash doesn’t go to me or the profit. Artists have to fret about ripped off followers blaming them for Ticketmaster add-ons and scalpers.”

The ‘Coronary heart Of Gold’ hitmaker added: “Live performance excursions are not enjoyable. Live performance excursions not what they have been.”

Tickets for The Treatment’s upcoming dates went on sale final week and sparked fury amongst followers who slammed Ticketmaster’s pricey charges with some claiming the add-on was greater than the ticket value itself – and the ‘Lovecats’ hitmaker waded into the row on Twitter explaining the band had no management over the extras slapped on by the corporate.

He wrote: “I’m sickened as you all are by at present’s Ticketmaster charges debacle. To be clear: the artist has no technique to restrict them. I’ve been asking how they’re justified. If I get something coherent by means of a solution I’ll allow you to all know.”

The Treatment will kick off their 2023 North American dates on Might 10 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and conclude the trek on July 1 in Miami, Florida.
