OHIO’s Division of Range and Inclusion and Multicultural Heart will take part nationwide efforts to rejoice our Black and African American communities throughout February for Black Historical past Month. The nationwide theme for 2023 is “Black Resistance” and all college students, college, workers and neighborhood residents are invited to the particular occasions, lectures and shows that will likely be held all through the month.

Black Historical past Month occasions hosted by the Division of Range and Inclusion and Multicultural Heart:

  • Ohio College’s Black Historical past Month celebration will kick-off with a Group Soul Meals Dinner with meals, fellowship and music. The dinner will happen within the Baker Ballroom from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2.
  • Two Black Historical past Month Hearth Chats will focus on vital points of Black life and wellness. Subjects embrace: “Black in Appalachia,” and “Well being Disparities within the Black Group.”
  • As a part of a brand new Late Evening within the Multicultural Heart occasion sequence, which can kick-off this semester, February’s late-night occasion will contain a Black Historical past Month Sport Evening.
