Olivia Rodrigo has revealed that writing her new track Vampire helped her course of emotions of “remorse” and “anger”.
The 20-year-old singer launched Vampire, the lead single from her sophomore album Guts, on Friday.
To mark the event, Olivia shared behind-the-scenes clips and images of her writing the track along with her frequent collaborator Dan Nigro and capturing the video with director Petra Collins.
Within the caption, she wrote, “Vampire track and video out no. I made it with my very proficient fantastic buddy @dan_nigro final winter and created the video with the unimaginable @petrafcollins . scripting this track helped me kind by means of numerous emotions of remorse, anger, and heartache.”
She continued, “It is one among my favourite songs on the album and it felt very cathartic to complete. im so glad it is in your arms now and I hope it helps u cope with any bloodsuckers in your life. all my thanks 4ever (sic).”
Olivia’s carousel additionally featured a throwback photograph of her standing subsequent to a Twilight movie poster and a drawing she made as a toddler of the vampire movie’s lead characters Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.
The Drivers License singer beforehand labored with Petra on the music movies for her songs Good 4 U and Brutal.
Olivia’s second album, Guts, can be launched on 8 September.
