The Hives’ Pelle Almqvist cuts head while swinging microphone but finishes gig

The Hives frontman Pelle Almqvist lower his head on his personal microphone at a gig with Arctic Monkeys final night time (June 2), occurring to complete the present anyway.

The Swedish rockers have been warming up for the Sheffield band on the first of two nights in Manchester when Almqvist unintentionally hit himself within the head whereas swinging his microphone.

As he revealed later, the frontman’s mic cable was unintentionally trodden on throughout their set by his brother and bandmate, Hives guitarist Niklas, main it to fireside straight into his head.

Although gaining a severe lower to the attention and bleeding closely, Pelle continued with the present and advised followers afterwards that he was doing properly and that the band would play the second gig at Outdated Trafford tonight (June 3) as deliberate.

“I’m okay!” he wrote. “Was swinging the mic on the present and Nicholas unintentionally stepped on the cable sending the mic into my face.

“The blood seemed actually cool however it wasn’t too dangerous. I’m taped up and its only a bump now. Let’s do it once more tonight! Wohoo!!!”

Later this summer season, The Hives will launch their first new album in over a decade, ‘The Dying Of Randy Fitzsimmons’. Final month, they shared lead single ‘Bogus Operandi’.
