Depeche Mode have shared two stripped-back performances with the BBC Live performance Orchestra – verify them out beneath.

The duo – Dave Gahan and Martin Gore – took to the Radio 2 Piano Room to share variations of ‘Strolling In My Footwear’ and ‘Ghosts Once more’. It aired on the radio through the band’s big North American enviornment tour behind comeback album ‘Memento Mori’.

Requested by the BBC‘s Gary Davies of their reminiscences of recording ‘Strolling In My Footwear’ within the early Nineties, Gahan mentioned: “I don’t have many. That’s not a very good factor, however I actually don’t bear in mind recording that track and it was a specific time after we had been all having an excessive amount of enjoyable outdoors of labor and I suppose it caught up with us, but it surely’s a kind of songs that by no means will get outdated while you carry out it.

Gahan then responded: “I didn’t know that. No, however I do know he’s a fan of the track and over time we crossed paths, many occasions… Yeah. There’s a connection.

“We had been in a rehearsal room in New York a number of years again and enjoying the track. And we got here out the rehearsal room and Bono was standing within the hallway and he was eavesdropping on the track and we had somewhat chat after about it. He instructed me that it was a kind of songs that he wished he’d written.”

In a four-star-review of ‘Memento Mori’ – Depeche Mode’s fifteenth studio effort, which follows 2017’s ‘Spirit’ – NME mentioned the file is “comfortably their finest album this aspect of the millennium, and, most significantly, a testomony to creativity and friendship. The music world is richer for it.”

Chatting with NME in regards to the album and the band’s ethos, Gahan mentioned: “It’s a ‘rise up and do it your self’ spirit. Do it your means and don’t be instructed . Finally it would work out for you.”
